 Starting from Bodrum the Turquoise Coast runs through Marmaris, Datca, Dalyan, Sarigerme, Dalaman, Uzumlu, Fethiye, Calis, Ovacik, Olu Deniz, Kalkan and Kas. Famous for its clear sparkling turquoise blue waters, wonderful beaches and a coastline surrounded by pine clad mountains.

With several International Airports in the region The Turquoise Coast is an easily accessible destination all year around.


Fethiye


fethiye-b1Fethiye, surrounded by pine forest clad mountains is the largest town in the Mugla district. It is a working town with many shops and facilities. The market held every Tuesday is the largest market in the region where you can find fresh fruit, vegetables, honey, cheese, olives, sundried goods and textiles. Fethiye has a beautiful sea front and marina where you can enjoy a cool drink whilst watching the sunset. Fethiye, a natural harbour, was founded by the Lycians 3500 years ago and the area has many historical sites nearby. Although property prices have gone up over the years in the region, Fethiye is still very good value for money.

 
Ovacik


olu-deniz-1Ovacik is the nearest residential area to the world famous Oludeniz beach and lagoon. Oludeniz beach is a national park and a conservation area but there are many hotels, bars and restaurants in the area (not in the conservation area). However, the nearest residential area is Ovacik a 10 minute drive away. Ovacik is located on a plateau above Oludeniz and is surrounded by the Mendoz and Baba mountain range and pine forests.

Calis


calis2Calis is the nearest beach to Fethiye town centre and is famous for its sunsets. There are many bars, restaurants and hotels along Calis sea front. The beach itself is very long and joins with Kocacalis beach. Sea turtles (Carretta Carretta) nest on Calis beach and reptile researchers from all over the world come to this region every May to September to study them. There are many properties available in the Calis region near to the beach. Calis is an up and coming area, so the prices remain very competitive.


Uzumlu


uzumluUzumlu is a peaceful, idyllic rural town with many famous vineyards. The main crops of the town are olives, grapes, walnuts and almonds. One can pick up locally produced red wine for affordable prices in local taverns. The town is surrounded by mountains and the views in this area are simply breathtaking. The town centre has many shops, amenities and a wine bar which is a converted old stone cottage. The town is a 20 minutes drive away from Calis beach and Fethiye and there are regular bus services to and from Uzumlu from Fethiye. This green, quiet and welcoming rural town has many properties and is popular with retirees.


Sarigerme


sarigermeThis is an up and coming area with great investment possibilities. Although it is a small village, it has many facilities nearby. There are many 5 star hotels in the region and The Hilton Worldwide Spa and Golf Resort has just open in the area. This impressive hotel has 6000 acres of land that is being developed into two impressive golf courses (18 and 9 holes). Land and build is a good option here as there are still many plots although there are completed projects as well. Most properties have stunning sea views. Sarigerme has a long sandy beach with many amenities including water sports. The village is only a 15 minutes drive away from Dalaman International Airport which means it has easy access all year around to UK and other European destinations. 


Gocek


gocek2Gocek is the most famous marina in Southern Turkey with many different types of mooring facilities that service yachts from all over the world. There are many bars and restaurants on the marina sea front and also a Swiss Hotel marina complex. Many rich and famous people come to this little town and navigate around these waters. Those famous people include Prince Charles (he has been in this town twice), Tina Turner, Tom Hanks (he comes here regularly), Demi Moore, Sting and Bill Gates. Many famous Turkish businessmen and artists also come to this marina and spend time in this pretty town. Thus, if rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous is an attractive way of spending your holidays or your retirement in a beautiful Mediterranean town then Gocek is place for you. The mountains which surround the marina are covered with wonderful pine forests and the views from these locations are simply breathtaking. Gocek is only 20 minutes drive away from Dalaman International Airport and Fethiye is only a 25 minutes drive away further south. If you are interested in sailing then Gocek is the place for you because everything in this town is based on the sea and sailing.
